Detecting Unit

The stylus is attached to the stylus fixing block by knob and the movement is transmitted directly to the detecting unit of differential transformer type. This is is then sent to the recording unit through the transistorized electric- circuit amplifier. Change knob is used for shifting the measuring pressure to the right or left direction, according to the tooth flank that is to be measured. On measuring the lead, the detecting unit can be revolved as per the helix angle. Consequently, the detecting direction may be measured at a right angle to the tooth. The angle is graduated approximately at every 5 degrees. This procedure is not to be applied when the helix angle is less then 30 degrees.
